Training initiatives

The system of training for employment incorporates different training initiatives aimed at improving workers' skills and qualifications and increasing companies’ productivity.

Types of training initiatives:

    • These are the training actions that, depending on their needs, the company arranges for its workers. These training actions can be organised and managed by companies with flexible content and time of delivery, provided that the conditions established by the regulations are respected. These training actions that companies carry out for their workers are financed through discounts on social security payments.

      Tutorials:

    • These are the training activities that the competent public administrations carry out for employed workers. They are aimed at meeting the needs not covered by the training discounted by companies for their workers. Up to 30% of unemployed people may also participate in this training offer, as established by Royal Decree 694/2017. This training offer includes:

      • Sectoral training programmes
      • Transversal training programmes
      • Professional qualification and recognition programmes

The programming and management of these training activities is defined in each call, which will be adjusted and carried out on the basis of the annual report for prospecting and detecting training needs and the multi-annual training scenario.

The training offer for employed workers shall be financed using subsidies granted on a competitive basis, through the publication of calls for proposals.

Calls in progress or being checked

      Calls with open request deadlines:

    • The training activities aimed at unemployed workers will be tailored to the individual training needs, according to the profile of each worker, as well as to the needs of the production system, so that they acquire the skills required by the labour market and improve their employability.

To this end, the following programmes have been designed:

      • Training programmes from the State Employment Services aimed at meeting the training needs detected in the personalised insertion plans and job offers
      • Specific training programmes aimed at unemployed people with special training needs or with difficulties in professional insertion or re-qualification
      • Training programmes that include recruitment commitments

The programming and management of these training activities is defined in each call according to the results of the annual report on prospecting and detecting training needs.

These programmes for employed workers are financed using subsidies granted on a competitive basis, through the publication of calls for proposals.
